Crossover
Abominable by Ari (BSC, Fred/Janine, PG-13) Mid-S5. Wolfram and Hart recruits Janine Kishi.
All Shall Love Me and Despair by MarcusRowland and others (West Wing, post-series, includes spoilers for tWW S7) Illyria runs for president (includes spoilers for tWW S7). // It's a Round Robin, so there are additional chapters by various authors (6 chapters, 5 authors, as of Dec. 21, 2007).
Beginnings by Jinni [personal lj link] Post-Chosen crossover with the Batman 'verse.
Collectible As We All Are by Mosca (Miki Ando & Buffy; PG-13; post-Chosen, Spoilers for the 2006 Olympics and references to skating events through the summer of 2007; ~about 2500 words) I love this so hard. There is figure-skating . . . and Slayers . . . and this is just made of win.
Decaying Organic Snowflakes by Jane (Fight Club, Tyler & Ilyria, PG) Post-NFA, very believable. "I wish to do more violence."
A Dreamer's Dream by m00nbrain (Firefly; River, Angel; PG; 628 words) [personal lj link] Authorial Summary: River and Angel meet for the first time but where? Why?
You Gotta Have Heart by Executrix (Dr. Horrible, G) [fix-it fic] I like that Penny gets to have agency and decision-making and awareness and yadda yadda.
Her Vorpal Sword in Hand by Sangerin (Firefly, Cordelia/River, R) Cordelia's not my favorite character, so it was really the title (oh the "You're Welcome" imagery!) that sucked me in, though I was wary about the idea of pairing her with River (who is one of my favorite characters). The fic actually makes it make sense, though. I can't say how without spoiling it, but really, go read it.
Hitching a Ride by Meltha (Firefly) [lj link] Stowaway will probably become a cliched way to introduce a character to the Firefly crew, but it works really well in this story. This story also manages to focus on two characters I don't have great love for and yet cause me to unequivocally love the story.
* Hopscotch and Dandelions by Jennifer-Oksana (Sandman, Wesley and Death, PG) "This wasn't supposed to happen, you know"
How Kaylee Frye Won Two Bets in the Space of One Trip by Twinkledru J. (Firefly, Fred/Willow, PG) Very sweet interaction and in-character voices.
The "I" In Tam by Executrix (Firefly, PG-13) [lj link] Something of an S4 redux with a strangely believable way of crossing these 'verses. Selling points: Ethan Rayne, Maggie Walsh, Faith, and some interesting plot twists with fairly solid characterization.
Incurable by Ari (Harry Potter and Firefly; McGonagall/Giles/River, with other pairings implied) Authorial Summary: The Room of Requirement, an insane asylum, a cottage in France, and three very broken people.
Magic by dorrie6 (Harry Potter, Willow/Hermione) Drabble. Cheesy, but sweet. And in-character.
The Many Faces of Evil by Amy (Austin Powers, R) Authorial Summary: Wolfram and Hart's got a new client, and Lilah Morgan's just the lawyer to deal with them.
Meet It and Live It by Twinkledru J. (Doctor Who, PG, AU for both, taking off from "The Gift" for BtVS and "Boomtown" for Doctor Who) "What if Buffy's swan-dive through the portal to save Dawn actually spat her out through the Rift, in Cardiff?"
Memorial Inscriptions by Vanzetti (Harry Potter, Dawn Summers/Hermione Granger, PG) Authorial Summary: Numerology, demonology, ice cream and bad drama.
Nameless by victoria p. (Harry Potter, Harry/Faith) Authorial Summary: Tonight, he's just a nameless fuck in a nameless Muggle club, and he finds that oddly comforting.
The Next Hero by Hth (Harry Potter) [send feedback to: bettyplot @ yahoo.com ] Giles and Dumbledore. Not quite how you would expect.
Passion of Shadows by voleuse (Firefly, Nina/Inara, PG) I have some difficulty with this Nina, but it is so beautiful that the lack of transtional exposition is forgivable. (Inara pre-series, Nina very much post-series.)
The Past and Pending by dorrie6 (Harry Potter, Willow Rosenberg & Neville Longbottom, PG, "This is set between BTVS seasons 6 & 7, when Willow is in England with Giles, which according to the HP timeline, puts Neville in his early twenties and [for the purposes of this story] mid-war.") Neville is sent by the Ministry to investigate Willow. I really like what's revealed about both characters and how it's done.
Relationship Advice by Calle Dybedahl (Xena; Gabrielle/Tara, Aphrodite/Gabrielle; NC-17)
Authorial Summary: Gabrielle, Tara and a Cyber Cafe.
Revelations by Trekker (CSI, Oz and Grissom, PG) Authorial Summary: They meet in an interrogation room...
Rough Heals by voleuse (Firefly, PG-13) Dawn-centric, crossover with the Firefly 'verse. Dark and spare and powerful.
Schoolgirl Chant by Ari (The West Wing, CJ/Tara, PG, AU, 100 words) Prompt: daisy. A lovely look at Tara.
School of Lost Souls by Alixtii (Firefly, Fred/River, NC-17) Authorial Summary: Knowledge without soul can be a dangerous thing.
DVD commentary here.
* The Season of Spring Comes On by Twinkledru J. (PG) Authorial Summary: Buffy and Dawn feel that they've earned a vacation. Wackiness ensues. (PG. Post-Chosen. RPF crossover. Mentions of marijuana usage. Buffy/Orlando Bloom/Sean Bean. Also, if you look at it right, you might see some Dawn/Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston.)
* She's So Lucky by Twinkledru J. (Faith/Britney Spears, NC-17) Who else but a Rogue Slayer would bring down a Goddess of the People?
Should Shadows Fall by girlchild (Firefly, Nina/Kaylee, G) Image-heavy (the prompts were art, leaves, and love) lovely short piece.
The Soul of Wit by Kyra Cullinan (Askewinverse, Oz and Silent Bob) Authorial summary: Oz and Silent Bob. 'cause they needed to meet.
Story of Seasons by raedbard (West Wing, CJ Cregg/Tara Maclay, PG, early seasons TWW/no spoilers, 282 words) I really love the understated nature of this, and the magical quality. Beautiful imagery... the transitoriness and at the same time the weightiness... And I'm such a sucker for writing on the body.
That Teenage Feeling by mosca (Harry Potter; Rupert Giles/Remus Lupin; post-"Chosen" and Half-Blood Prince; NC-17; about 4,200 words) Authorial Summary: Two Englishmen meet in a strange city, share a drink, and cast several spells.
I love the thoughtfulness of this -- both the attention to detail and the measured pace.
To Quench Her by Ari (Firefly, Jenny Calendar/Kaylee Frye, PG, 989 words) Authorial Summary: The heat of August awakens new thirsts in Janna's heart. Amazing imagery and evocativeness. Very real-feeling.
To the Waters and the Wild by seraC (Dawn in Ireland post-"Chosen," PG-13) I couldn't decide which category to put this under, and finally decided on crossover since it brings in Irish myth.
True Love by Executrix (Firefly, River and Cordelia, 536 words) The title riffs on the first epigraph, and it is a light fic, but it is the more poignant, darker, aspects which so I so love.
Trust the Morning by dorrie6 (Harry Potter; Neville/Oz; PG; 7 drabbles, 700 words) From across the room Oz could smell him, all fresh greens and warm earth, with a strong hint of black tea.
Untitled by Mary Jo [entwashian] (Firefly) The first 5 ficlets in a series. Centers on Dawn, with implications of her Keyness, and a believable way to cross 'verses.
Untitled (The West Wing) [Authorship correction: Posted by The Mad Poetess but an actual transciption of an RP scene, thus credit goes to Josh and Angel's players.] A fandomhigh snippet. Josh Lyman and Angel on political campaigning.
